Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s music accompanies all of us throughout our lives – its amazing beauty and harmony have become an integral part of our existence. The composer’s name is infinitely dear to each of us – regardless of whether one is a professional musician or just a listener. The concert program “Our Tchaikovsky” continues the concerts cycle to the 180th anniversary of the composer’s birth. Two concerts have already taken place, consisting entirely of the composer’s romances. Galina Vishnevskaya was very fond of the music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, two of his operas are in the Opera Centre’s repertoire: Iolanta and Eugene Onegin. “Now Tchaikovsky’s music is being performed by my students, and I am happy that I can convey to them my love for this great Master,” Galina Vishnevskaya used to say.
The concert “Our Tchaikovsky” will feature arias, duets, scenes and instrumental fragments from operas by Tchaikovsky.
