Vladislav Verestnikov graduated in 1976 from the vocal department of the Kharkov Institute of the Arts.

As a fourth-year student, he was invited to join the Kharkov Theater of Opera and Ballet, where he sang Onegin’s part in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Figaro in Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, Escamillo in Bizet’s Carmen and Germont in Verdi’s La Traviata. In the Institute opera studio he performed Onegin’s part, that of Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Bohème, Pyotr Borodin in Hubarenko’s Reborn May.

Vladislav has participated in the concert performance for Tchaikovsky’s The Maid of Orleans (Lionel’s part) in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory (with the the USSR State Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Fedoseyev) in 1976.

In 1977 Verestnikov was invited to join the Bolshoi Theater as an intern. In 1978 after performing Guglielmo in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte, he became a full member of the company where his tutors were Nortsov and Lisitsian. During his career at the Bolshoi, he performed more than 30 roles by Russian and foreign composers, including Renato in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera, Germont in Verdi’s La Traviata, Marquis di Posa in Verdi’s Don Carlos, Count di Luna in Verdi’s Il trovatore, Don Carlo in Verdi’s La forza del Destino, Amonasro in Verdi’s Aida, Scarpia in Puccini’s Tosca, Marcello in Puccini’s La bohème and Figaro in both Rossini’s The Barber of Seville and Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro etc.

Vladislav has regularly participated in opera festivals held in Novossibirsk, Yaroslavl, Kazan (Shalyapin festival), Saratov (Sobinov festival), Nizhny Novgorod, Astrakhan, Samara.

In 1998 Vladislav headed the jury for Sobinov Competition of Young Vocalists in Yaroslavl. In 2005 he was invited to become a professor at the Schnittke Institute of Music in Moscow. Since 2006 he has taught at the Opera Centre.

Vladislav was regularly on tour to Japan, Americas, Europe, Turkey, Cyprus and other countries.

Vladislav Verestnikov is a prize-winner of the VII International Glinka Vocalists’ Competition in Tbilisi (1975), and a prize-winner of the Irina Arkhipova Foundation in 2006. Vladislav is awarded with the Order of Friendship, the medal of the 850th Moscow Foundation Anniversary  and the medal of the 225th anniversary of the Bolshoi Theater. People’s Artist of Russia.

His discography includes Alfio in Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana, Guglielmo in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte, Golova in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Christmas Eve, Gryaznoy in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride, Prince Ivan Korolevich in Rimsky-Korsakov’s Kashchey the Immortal, the Duke in Rachmaninov’s The Miserly Knight, Azem in Fomin’s The Americans and The Unknown Man in Verstovsky’s Askold’s Grave.
