Opera Centre’s Artistic Director, Olga Rostropovich, has been awarded with a ‘Prize of Moscow’ in the field of literature and art in a “Music art” nomination. The decree on the award was signed by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on July 21, 2014.
The Prize of Moscow in the field of literature and art is presented for the creation of the most talented and outstanding by novelty and originality works, as well as for the organization of projects that have received public recognition and contributing to the development of literature and art in Moscow. The award was given to Olga Rostropovich for organizing the International Mstislav Rostropovich Festival. This emphasizes the cultural and social significance of the festival as one of the biggest musical events not only in Moscow but also in the whole of Russia.
