A Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre soloists’ tour took place on March 10 in Mexico, San Luis Potosí – one of the oldest and most picturesque cities of the country center. The concert called ‘Voices of Russia’ featured Ekaterina Mironycheva, AlinaShakirova, AleksandrAliev, RuslanRozyev and Sergei Polyakov, accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of San Luis Potosi conducted by SlavaLuther.
The audience welcomed with great enthusiasm the young Russian singers, who presented a special programme, which included popular arias and scenes from operas by Verdi, Delibes, Gounod, Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff.
Mayor José Morales Reyes, the honorary guest of the evening, spoke enthusiastically about his impressions on the concert: “We has been delighted to introduce to you a small but significant part of the vast and rich vocal art that Russia grants to the world with her unique inherent power of sound and melody. The concert was a real gift for all lovers of music.”
