The festive evening celebrating the first Opera Centre anniversary took place on October 2. 10 years ago exactly Galina Vishnevskaya’s dream of own opera school in Russia came true and Moscow had got a new theatre/education centre. In an interview to the ‘Kultura’ TV-channel Vishnevskaya said: “The future is the continuation of the present, and I hope that we will have ahead new plays, new artists, new discoveries of remarkable Russian voices.”
Congratulations to the Center and its artistic director were sent by the Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, many masters of world culture: Irina Bogacheva, Makvala Kasrashvili, Irina Shostakovich, Placido Domingo, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Mikhail Jurowski, Alexander Sokurov, Dmitry Bertman. The festive evening was opened by Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Mrs. Shvetsova and Head of the Moscow City Department for Culture Mr. Kapkov, who have warmly congratulated Galina and the Opera Centre team on the anniversary.
The festive gala concert, directed by Ivan Popovski, featured Inna Zvenyatskaya, Svetlana Kotina, Ekaterina Mironycheva, Lyubov Molina, Irina Oknina, Maria Pakhar, Albina Fayruzova, Alina Shakirova, Elchin Azizov Konstantin Brzhinsky, Oleg Dolgov, Yuri Salzman, Dmitry Iogman, Alexander Kasyanov, Stanislav Mostovoy, Alexei Tikhomirov and other graduates of the different years, who now successfully perform in major theaters in Russia and abroad.
