A stately occasion took place at the Opera Centre on June 26 – year 2012 graduates were handed their education diplomas. Those have completed their studies: Sergey Atyushev, Maria Gladkikh, Vasily Korostelev, Leonid Kuchumov, Stanislav Mostovoy, Maria Pozhidaeva, Savva Tikhonov and Elena Klenskaya (intern).
Galina Vishnevskaya, the Artistic Director of the Centre, congratulated her students, wishing further success, professional growth, vibrant productions and premieres for them. During the years of studies the singers have taken part in many Centre’s productions: Eugene Onegin and Iolanta by Tchaikovsky, The Tsar’s Bride by Rimsky-Korsakov, numerous concerts, festivals and tours. A part in Boris Godunov opera by Mussorgsky, which successfully opened the ‘War and Peace’ International Festival in Sevastopol on June 1, had become one of the major works for the many students.
Tutors, concertmasters, partners on stage were praised with warm words by the graduates. The selection auditions will take place on June 27, 28 and the committee will choose the new Opera Centre students.
