On November 26-28 the master-classes by the founder and leader of the Modena Belcanto Academy, – Mirella Freni, took place on the Opera Centre stage a Young Opera Singers Sessions project framework. During these three days a world-famous singer and tutor has shared her invaluable experience and mastery secrets with Opera Centre soloists and students of the Moscow Conservatory and other Moscow music high schools.
“Unfortunately, there are no more such great teachers that we had,” – has said Mirella Freni at a press conference – “and we often meet young artists, who have a beautiful voice, but absolutely no technique. They do not know how to use their voice. And I said to myself: you have to teach them, as long as you have the strength. Because art – is my life, and youth is crucial for art lives”.
The project ended on November 29 with a gala concert, which featured Belcanto Academy soloists Jessica Rose Cambio and Igor Turcanu and Opera Centre soloists: Yulia Bychkova, Maria Gulick, Natalia Zimina, Ekaterina Mironycheva, Aleksandr Aliev, Sergey Atyushev, Leonid Bakhtalin, Maxim Kuzmin-Karavaev Maxim Osokin.
Young Opera Singers Sessions will be continued in year 2013 with master-classes and joint gala-concerts by the soloists of the Placido Domingo’s Academy under Valencia Opera and Opera Centre soloists.
