Opera Centre tour in Surgut in the “Novoe Peredvizhnichestvo” (“New Wanderers”) program took place on October 8.
One of the most striking Opera Centre productions – Tchaikovsky’s opera “Eugene Onegin” – has been successfully presented at the SurGu theatre, accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Surgut Philharmonic, conducted by Dennis Kirpanev.
In the six years of cooperation with the “New Wanderers” program, Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre has been on tours to Penza, Ekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk regions, Irkutsk, Angarsk, and many other Russian “science cities”. Performance in Surgut took place in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the “New Wanderers” program. Galina Vishnevskaya, the Artistic Director of the Opera Centre, has congratulated the organizers and the participants:
“I congratulate sincerely the “New Wanderers” program with its 20-year anniversary. In our recent history, this is a great date, and I am really glad that my Opera Centre and “New Wanderers” are connected by long-term successful cooperation. I always try to make my students to perform as often as possible in Russia’s “out-of-the-way places”, in which intellectuals not always can come in touch with classical music heritage. This is the objective set by the “New Wanderers”. I wish you every success and hope that our cooperation will continue in future.”
