September 2, Galina Vishnevskaya met her students. The meeting was devoted to creative and curriculum plans for the forthcoming academic year and theatre-concert season as well as audition of newly arrived students. There are 16 first years’ students; more of them passed sophisticated competitive enrolment; another were chosen by Galina Vishnevskaya at auditions during Volga tour and at Singers Fair in Ekaterinburg.
The next planned events will be Rimsky-Korsakov opera “The Tsar’s Bride” which became a part of the Centre’s repertoire (October 4) and Ch. Gounod opera “Faust”, premiere of which took place in May of the last season. There new stagings are planned for the coming season: P. Tchaikovsky operas “The Queen of Spades”, “Iolanta” and “Rigoletto” by D. Verdi as well as numerous chamber concerts.
Performances of Galina Vishnevskaya apprentices will not be limited by the Centre’s stage as an active tour is planned: participation in opening of Russian Festival in Rome (December, 2004), gala-concerts in Perm, Ekaterinburg (December, 2004) and summer Volga tour that already has became traditional (June-July, 2005).
