On the 7th of June the festive closing of the Galina Vishnevskaya III International Opera Competition took place at the The Moscow State Academic Music Theatre K. S. Stanislavsky and Vl. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko. The Competition winners were congratulated by the Vice-Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation A. Busygin and the Head of the Culture Department of the Moscow Government S. Hudakov, who called the great happiness for the young opera singers the possibility to participate in the Galina Vishnevskaya Competition. The head of Jury Mrs. Vishnevskaya and the director of the Opera Centre Elena Oparkova congratulated the winners as well and presented them the diploma and prizes. Mrs. Vishnevskaya expressed her specially gratitude to the mayor of Moscow Yury Luzhkov, who supports not only the Competition, but also the Opera Centre generally. The winner of the grand-prix of the Competition is the soloist of the Moscow New Opera (Novaya Opera) and of the Bolshoi Theatre Khachatur Badalyan. The second prize among the female singers won the soloist of the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre Victoria Grig. Our congratulations!!! In nomination “the best male singer” won the student of the Moscow Conservatory baritone Mikhail Gushenko. The third prize shared two sopranos Alexandra Maximova, Tatiana Trenogina and baritone Alexandr Hontsa (Belarus). In the second part of the festive closing the gala-concert of the winners took part. The symphonic orchestra was conducted by Yaroslav Tkalenko. The Galina Vishnevskaya IV International Opera Competition is intended to be held in Moscow in May 2012.
