The Competition started on October the 5th with a draw ceremony. 200 applications were sent to the Jury. 62 contestants from Russia, Belgium, Holland, Germany, China, South Korea were allowed to join the I round of the Competition after the preliminary selection. Olga Rostropovich, chairlady of the jury, addressed the competitors with a warm greeting. Even in severe quarantine restrictions the Competition will be held on its highest level, she emphasized, she also hailed the contestants and wished the young opera singers luck on their way to the victory.
The I round will take place at the Opera Centre on October the 6th at 2 pm. On the first day the jury will choose from 29 competitors. The first draw number has been picked by Soslan Kusov from Russia.
