Svetlana Chernova was born in Simferopol.
In 1992 she graduated from the Tchaikovsky Kiev State Conservatory.
Since year 1991 she worked as a concertmaster at the Crimean Chamber Musical Theatre and at the Military Music Band of the Black Sea Fleet. In 1996, together with the Crimean State Philharmonic, she organised Crimean Ensemble of Chamber Music. Svetlana has been recoded for TV and took part in various festivals.
Since 2000 she worked as a soloist and accompanist at the State Philharmonic Society (MosConcert).
She works at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre as anaccompanist since year 2002. She participated in the Russian-Norwegian Youth Music festival (Moscow, 2003), Festival of arts in Bloemfontein (Republic of Southern Africa, 2005), Musical Autumn (Togliatti, 2007), in concerts dedicated to Galina Vishnevskaya’s anniversary (Nizhny Novgorod, Saint Petersburg, 2006), in concert series «Vocal schools of Russia» (Moscow Conservatory, 2007), Russian Assemblies in Venice (2007), at the International Economic Forum (Saint Petersburg, 2007), XX International Festival in Colmar in 2008, The Breath of Baikal festival (Irkutsk, 2015).
She participated in staging Mussorgsky’s opera Boris Godunov at the Opera Royal de Wallonie in Liege (Belgium, 2010) and at the Festival Internacional de Santander in Spain (2010). She is a permanent accompanist at the Galina Vishnevskaya International Young Singers Competition (Moscow).
Svetlana is a prize-winner of the Lysenko Republican Pianists Competition of Ukrainian artistic ensembles (Lviv).
