Concert of the Opera Centre soloists in Frankfurt

Concert with participation of the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre soloists and Russian National Orchestra conducted by Maestro Mstislav Rostropovich was successfully took place in Frankfurt and accomplished the grand international project “Russian Culture Year in Germany”.
Festival has been presented all the palette of Russian art to German audience during the whole year.
The final accord took place on the stage of one of the best concert halls not only in Frankfurt but also throughout Germany – Alte Opera.
The best soloists of the Centre whose names are Oxana Kornievskaya, Oxana Lesnichaya, Natalia Levitina, Irina Oknina, Ury Baranov and Ilia Pavlov took part in the concert. Russian public had already the opportunity to appreciate their mastery in “Ruslan and Ludmila” by M. Glinka and N. Rimsky-Korsakov’s “The Tsar’s Bride” and in numerous chamber concerts of the Centre as well. Apprentices of the famous Galina Vishnevskaya had had already a substantial concert experience by this moment but to perform abroad under the aegis of the Centre was for the first time for them. Singers with quite obvious excitement understood all the responsibility of this performance and co-operation with great Mstislav Rostropovich gave a special emotional nerve-strain to the program.
First part was consisted of both opera classic arias and arias that are less known by foreign audience (for instance, scenes from S. Prokophiev’s “War and Peace” or scene of Marpha’s fortune-telling from “Khovanshchina” by M. Mussorgsky). Nevertheless this music had a success with German music lovers and the mastery of young singers won the affection of German audience. Public didn’t let them go as long as Maestro, Galina Vishnevskaya and all the soloists appeared on the stage.
The symphonic part of the program was met no less enthusiastically: Maestro Rostropovich with Russian National Orchestra performed the symphony #10 by D. Shostakovich who was one of the favorite composers and closest friend of Mstislav Rostropovich and Galina Vishnevskaya.
Interpretation of this masterpiece amazed by its dramatic tension, subtle emotionality, peculiar spirituality and became a true revelation for the audience.
