On April 18 at the Opera Centre took place the final in the season 2015/2016 concert series “Master and students”, according to tradition representing students of one or another teacher, this time people’s artist of the USSR Makvala Kasrashvili.
The evening opened with a performance by Makvala Kasrashvili, who performed Floria Tosca aria from the Opera of G. Puccini. This breakthrough role has become one of the many in the repertoire of Makvala Kasrashvili at the Bolshoi theatre, to which she served 50 years! Her performance was followed by the best students and graduates of Makvala Filimonovna: Anna Bondarevskaya, Maria Buinosova, Natalia Zimina, Natalia Kuchina, Anna Mathis, Herenzel Matsakova, Nestan Mebonia, Ekaterina Petrova, Anastasia Sorokina, Ekaterina Jasinskaya. At the concert sounded the most complicated and diverse arias from Mozart and Donizetti to Wagner and Prokofiev; each of young singers showed off a flamboyant vocal range and serious professional work.
The audience welcomed Makvala Kasrashvili and her students with the standing ovation. At the final the orchestra of the Opera Centre under the baton of conductor Alexander Solovyov played the Overture to the Opera “Carmen” by Bizet, placing the bright final chord to this evening.
