A series of master classes by Sebastian Schwarz, Head of Youth Troupe JET, artistic director of the Theater an den Wien and Kammeroper in Vienna, took place at the Opera Centre during January 29-31.
According to the famous opera expert, “… the goal of the Assemblies and such creative workshops in general is to see how young singers grow, in which direction they work and how ideas by conductors and opera directors can be implemented”.
Despite the time limit specified by the format of the master – classes, famous opera expert sought to analyze in detail the texture of a particular role, to talk about the variety of interpretations, point out the complexity and features of the performance. Unique experience of work with the best opera singers at the major European venues has allowed Sebastian Schwartz to point out flaws accurately, while not forgetting to celebrate the merits of young artists, encouraging them and introducing them to the international performing experience.
Next Assemblies iteration will be held in Vienna Kammeroper: the soloists of the Centre will participate in master classes and concerts with the members of the JET Youth Troupe.
