A new Airbus plane A321 belonging to Aeroflot has been named after Galina Vishnevskaya – the founder of the Opera Centre, People’s Artist of the USSR, holder of the Order of Merit of all degrees. Previously Aeroflot airpark has been adorned with a ‘Mstislav Rostropovich’ plane. In anticipation of the new theater season opening and Glinka’s opera ‘Ruslan and Lyudmila’ premiere, Olga Rostropovich, the Centre’s Artistic Director, has considered this event as deeply symbolic.
