October 13, 2013 the soloists of the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre will perform in one of the major London concert halls – the famous Cadogan Hall.
Located in the prestigious area of Chelsea, Cadogan Hall is the “home” venue for the Royal Symphony Orchestra that hosts concerts of classical music with renowned soloists and orchestras, as well as theatre performances. The Gala concert of the soloists of the Centre, organized by the renowned production company Ensemble Productions, precedes the Russian Year of Culture in the UK.
According to Olga Balakleets, head of the company, “London remembers and treasures the memory of Galina Vishnevskaya and Mstislav Rostropovich. That is why this concert is an important event in the cultural life of the British capital.”
The concert will feature the leading soloists of the Opera Centre – Ekaterina Mironycheva, Lyubov Molina, Konstantin Brzhinsky, Sergey Polyakov, Alexei Tikhomirov, as well as the winner of the Galina Vishnevskaya International Opera Singers Competition, soloist of Helikon Opera Karina Flores.
Yvette Vaughn Jones, Executive Director of the Visiting Arts Charity (London) has spoken on “the deep connection between the Vishnevskaya-Rostropovich families and British music, especially with the leading British composer of the 20th century – Benjamin Britten”. It is expected that the concert will be attended by the major political and cultural figures of the UK, friends of Galina Vishnevskaya and Mstislav Rostropovich, admirers of the great musicians.
The concert is held within the framework of the Young Opera Singers Sessions.
