CONGRATULATIONS!
25th of October Galina Vishnevskaya celebrated her 80th anniversary at Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. Several hours prior to the beginning of the ceremony Galina Vishnevskaya got a call with congratulations from the President of RF Mr. Putin who awarded her with an Order “Merits for Motherland” of II rate.
Director of solemn evening Dmitry Bertman and announcer S. Belza turned it into vivid action where world famous operatic singers took part such as V.Chernov, L. Dyadkova, B. Maisuradze, M. Kasrashvili, V. Ognovenko, V. Matorin, violinist M. Vengerov, ballet dancers S. Zakharova, N. Tsiskaridze. Official greeting from the stage were given only by Councilor of the President of RF Mr. Y. Laptev and by mayor of Moscow Mr. Y. Luzhkov as the heroine of the evening from the very outset were mind of abundance of congratulatory speeches. Unique photo shots and newsreels that captured life and creative work of the singer were showed in «tsars» box situated right on the stage of the concert hall. In spite of imperfection of old records the public held their breath and watched the divine images of Natasha Rostova, Aida, Katerina Izmailova, Cio-Cio-San, Katerina from “Taming of the Shrew” by Shebalin, heroine of the monoopera “Human voice” by Poulenc.
Among guests of Galina Vishnevskaya were I. Shostakovich, N. Solzhenitsina, A. Sokurov, V. Spivakov, Y. Bashment, T. Sinyavskaya and M. Magomaev, P. Bul-Bul-ogli, spouse of the President of Azerbaijan Ms. Alieva, Minister of Culture Mr. Sokolov and many other well-known personages, artists and culture’s workers, representatives of diplomatic corps, political and business elite. But of course the dearest guests for Galina Vishnevskaya were her daughters Olga and Elena and five grandchildren who arrived from France and USA.
