The new year has brought excellent news for the Opera Centre. Stefano Mazzonis di Pralafera, artistic director at the Royal Opera of Wallonia in Liege (Belgium) and Emilia Levi, director of the Santander International Festival (Spain) became guests at the Galina Vishevskaya Opera Centre on the 14th of January. Galina Vishnevskaya introduced her students for participation in the 2010 opera production of «Boris Godunov» by M. Mussorgsky, in which maestro Ruggero Raimondi is to star. The Centre soloists’ performance was accompanied with most flattering comments pronounced by such important personalities in the European theatrical management. The audition resulted in signing a contract about a release of «Boris Godunov» as a co-production with nine Centre soloists singing in it. Thus, A. Privoznova is to sing Kseniya, A. Shakirova – the Hostess, A. Tikhomirov – Pimen, O. Dolgov – Grigoriy, S. Polyakov – Shuysky, Yury Baranov – Shchelkalov and Ruslan Rozyev – Varlaam. The production will be presented on stage in Liege in June. Also the soloists will participate in G. Verdi «Requiem». In July both «Boris Godunov» and «Requiem» will be presented on stage in Spain at the Santander Festival where soloists’ concert will take place, too.
