Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre presented Eugene Onegin opera at the Tchaikovsky State Memorial Museum-nature preserve in Klin

6 December 2014

Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre presented Eugene Onegin opera on December 6 at the Tchaikovsky State Memorial Museum-nature preserve in Klin, in the framework of the museum’s  foundation day 120th anniversary celebration.
Those have brilliantly performed the main parts: Ekaterina Mironycheva – Tatiana, Konstantin Brzhinsky – Onegin, Natalia Zimina – Olga, Irina Moreva – Larina, Lyubov Molina – nurse. The role of Lensky was performed with great success by Vyacheslav Leontiev for the first time.
The audience, which consisted not only if Klin citizens, but also of well-known musicians, of the museum partners, and of media representatives, has welcomed the production directed by Andris Liepa in 2007 under Galina Vishnevskaya’s leadership, with great enthusiasm.
Originally it has been planned that the opera will be performed in a concert version; but thanks to  great work of the Centre’s staging department and, of course, the effort of soloists and orchestra conducted by Yaroslav Tkalenko, it has become possible to perform almost as if it was a complete stage version. It is the first opera production performed at the Concert Hall of the Museum-Reserve since its opening.
After the performance the museum’s director Mr. Belonovich has warmly thanked the artists, musicians and the entire staff of the Opera Centre, and has expressed confidence that this impressive cooperation will continue.
