On April 18-20 the Opera Centre tour in Irkustsk and Angarsk took place in the “Novoe Peredvizhnichestvo” (“New Wanderers”) Music and Theare Festival framework. The collaboration with this cultural-enlightning and educational program started in year 2006. During these 5 years Opera-Centre soloists have performed in Penza, Ekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk regions and many “technology cities”, which the Festival aims for.
The performances were held at the major venues: Irkutsk Region Philhamonic and “Sovremennik” (“Contemporary”) Culture Centre in Angarsk. The audience has enthusiastically took one of the most successful Opera Centre productions – The Tsar’s Bride by N. Rimsky-Korsakov.
Ilmar Lapins, the artistic director and principal conductor of the Governor’s Symphony Orchestra, has noted in a letter of thanks from the Irkutsk Philharmonic that “in Irkutsk, which has no opera house, Philharmonic incarnation of The Tsar’s Bride was a special event in musical life, which has found a vivid emotional response from the public. Of great importance is the cooperation with the Centre for the Governor’s Symphony Orchestra”.
The Festival framework has also included a master-claass for Priangarsk region young vocalists held by Prof. A. Belousova, which has taken place at Philharmonic Organ Hall and became a vivd event in Irkutsk professional and cultural spheres. Opera Centre and “Novoe Peredvizhnichestvo” Festival collaboration will continue in a new season – on October 8th P. Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin will be performed in Surgut.
