27th of April 2007, a great person and genius musician, loved by everybody Mstislav Rostropovich passed away.
Condolences on the address of Galina Vishnevskaya, her daughters, grandchildren and all large family of Mstislav Rostropovich were sent by President of Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, Government of Russia, musicians, artists, directors, creative collectives. Those who were lucky to work with Maestro, who admire his creative work not knowing him personally – pedagogues, librarians, doctors, policemen, ordinary people for whom Maestro will remain for always an unique Individual, true Citizen and Human Being could express their sorrow at the Big Hall of Conservatoire on April 28 where the farewell ceremony was held.
Mstislav Rostropovich was buried on a central alley at Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow on April 29.
