Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre presents new production – the forth one since the Centre’s opening in September 2002. This time the admirers of opera genre will see one of the greatest masterpieces of Giuseppe Verdi – opera “Rigoletto”. The director is Ivan Popovsky (Macedonia) who one year earlier put on the stage “The Tsar’s bride” by Rimsky-Korsakov in the Opera Centre. Scenography – Alla Kozhenkova. Conductor – Vladimir Ponkin. Artistic director – Galina Vishnevskaya.
Pavel Paremuzov (Duke of Mantua), Yuri Baranov (Rigoletto), Tatiana Metlina and Elena Nikitina (Gilda), Alexey Sergeev (Sparafucile), Alexey Tihomirov (Count Monterone) and other leading soloists of Opera Centre participate in the performance. According to Galina Vishnevskaya opera “Rigoletto” belongs not only to composer masterpieces, but to the masterpieces of world music. Pleads of great singers “grown up” on this opera. It’s a great pleasure to be involved in this opera for singer. Performance is very difficult, but only to participate in such a big works is a chance to become a true artist. It is necessary to work a lot for it and in particular the Opera Centre was build for this purpose. We undertake difficult tasks, realizing that these are difficulties, which we have to overcome. The play will show how much we succeed but now after exclamation mark we put dots in our work. Life goes on and artist will still advance”.
