On the 1st of September 2009 according to the tradition at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre the new academic year started and the meeting of the professors assembly took place dedicated to the discussing of the future creative plans. The artistic director of the Centre Galina Vishnevskaya, taking the medical treatment in Germany at this time, sent her blessing letter with greetings and best wishes to the new students of the Opera Centre.
The new comer – young singer from Moscow, Krasnoyarsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Ufa, Tatarstan, Udmurt Republic, Ukraine, Azerbaidjan – have been welcomed by director of the Opera Centre Elena Oparkova.
The distinguished guest of the ceremony was Mr. Masashi Yano, the vice general director of the company “Yamaha Russia”, which delivered to the Centre the new concert grand piano at the beginning of the new academic year.
Among the plans for the future season are the new repertoire, the guest tours in Minsk, Vladivostok, Saint-Petersburg, Italy, Germany, participation in the International festivals “Bartok+” in Miskolc (Hungary), in Santander (Spain).
One of the most important projects is going to be the joint performance of the opera “Boris Godunov” by M. Mussorgsky as a co-production of the Vishnevskaya Opera Centre and the Royal Opera of Wallonie in Liege, Belgium. The main part will sing Maestro Ruggero Raimondi, the other parts are going to perform nine leading soloists of the Opera Centre. The performance will take place on the stage of the Opera Royal de Wallonie in Liege in July 2010. At the same time the singer will take part in the performing of the “Requiem” by. G. Verdi.
