The festive night, dedicated to Galina Pavlovna Vishnevskaya (Peoples Artist of the USSR and Opera Centre Artistic director) anniversary took place on October 25th at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall.

The photo exhibition welcomed the guests and legendary singer’s admirers at the central lobby, showing the childhood and youth in blockade, images presented by Galina Vishnevskaya on stage, her work with her tutors – conductor A. Melik-Pashaev and director B. Pokrovsky, and her concert performances with great Mstislav Rostropovich.

In the festively decorated hall, director Dmitry Bertman has placed the costumes, in which Galina Vishnevskaya shone at the Bolshoi Theater: Aida, Tosca, Butterfly, The Tsar’s Bride, and of course, Tatiana – this costume has been specially brought from the P. Tchaikovsky’s House – Museum in Klin in honor of the anniversary. In the gala concert, led by Svyatoslav Belza participated famous opera singers: I. Bogacheva, L. Diadkova, M. Kasrashvili, S. Murzaev, L. Monastyrskaya (Ukraine), T. Iveri, C. Guelfi, Moscow State Chamber choir conducted by Vladimir Minin, Symphony Orchestra “Russian Philharmonic” conducted by G. Rinkevicius. Before the concert, demonstrated the unique frames and photo documentaries documenting the life and works of Galina Vishnevskaya.

Among the guests of the evening were Naina Yeltsyna, Natalia Solzhenitsyna, Nikolay Tsiskaridze, Andris and Ilze Liepa, rector of the Moscow Conservatory Alexander Sokolov, many famous musicians and artists, politicians and public figures, representatives of the diplomatic corps. But, of course, the most honored Galina’s guests were her daughters, Olga and Elena, and grandchildren, Ivan, Sergei, Alexander and Anastasia.

Galina Vishnevskaya confesses that she loves gifts. The new edition of “Galina: A Russian Story”, published by “Nikea” publishing (Nicaea), and supplemented by a large number of photographs and other rare materials, has become one of the main gifts for her anniversary. At the end of the celebration, an autograph session has taken place in the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall lobby, and Galina Pavlovna signed copies of the new edition for her numerous fans.
