On June 24 Galina Vishnevskaya – the Artistic Director of the Opera Centre – solemnly diplomaed the graduates of 2009: 19 young singers have finished the course. One day before the graduation concert took place with great success, where the young masters demonstrated their talent and the artistic experience they have acquired and learned.
While handing out the diploma Galina Vishnevskaya summed up the achievements and specified the features and singularity of everyone of the graduated soloists.
The past season got striking and impressive because of the brilliant debuts of Elchin Azizov in “Carmen” by G. Bizet and “Iolanta” by P. Tchaikovsky, of Ekaterina Bucharova in “Eugene Onegin” by P. Tchaikovsky, of Irina Martyanova in “The tsar’s bride” by N. Rimsky-Korsakov and in “Iolanta” by P. Tchaikovsky, of Anna Serebrennikova in “Carmen” by G. Bizet, of Vitaly Atyushev, Ruslan Rozyev and Maxim Sazhin in the new performance “Marriage and the other horrors” dedicated to the 200th anniversary of N. Gogol.
They leave behind the classes with their high professional professors and the master-classes and auditions with invited opera stars from all over the world: soprano Mimi Coertse (South African Republic), artistic director of the Rome Opera Mauro Trombetta, Maestro Riccardo Muti and Placido Domingo and the impresarios of the greatest opera theatres and agencies.
One of the last achievements is the invitation of certain of the soloists of the Opera Centre to participate the performance of the “Boris Godunov” by M. Mussorgsky at the Opera Royal de Wallonie, Liege, Belgium, and to perform the “Requiem” by G. Verdi at the International Music Festival Santander, Spain. Our congratulations!
