Eleven soloists of the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre participated in the co-production of the “Boris Godunov” by M. Mussorgsky on the 15 – 26 of June at the Opera Royal de Wallonie, Liege, Belgium. The main part of Boris performed the famous bass Ruggiero Raimondi. Anastassia Privoznova sang the part of Ksenia, Alina Shakirova – the part of tavern-lady and wet nurse, Alexey Tikhomirov was invited for the part of Pimen, but he also performed as Boris in two performances as well with big success. Oleg Dolgov and Sergey Polyakov performed as Grigory the Imposter, Yury Salzman – as Shelkalov, Ruslan Rozyev – as Varlaam, Maxim Sazhin – as Good’s Fool, Maxim Kuzmin-Karavaev – as Pimen, Vitaly Atyshev – as Mityushka, Konstantin Brzhinsky – as the police officer. The young singers from Russia won the audience, each performance was sold out and received with a great ovation and triumph. The performance is the co-production of the Opera Centre and Opera Royal de Wallonie, what is the really epoch-making cooperation for Opera Centre. In July and August “Boris Godunov” with participation of our soloists will be presented at the International Music Festival in Santander, Spain.
