On May 16 the soloists of the Opera Centre performed with great success at the VII International Mstislav Rostropovich Festival in Baku.
Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall could not accommodate all the audience – such interest has been shown in the concert by the students of Galina Vishnevskaya, who had visited the capital of Azerbaijan many times and had loved the city. The concert featured the best graduates and soloists of the Centre, who now perform on the best world venues: Svetlana Shilova, Sergey Polyakov, Vladislav Popov, Aleksandr Aliev, Irina Moreva, Maria Buynosova. The Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Orchestra performed under the baton of Yaroslav Tkalenko.
The next Rostropovich Festival will take place in Baku in May 2015.
