On 25 October Vishnevskaya Opera Center presented to the musical community and the audience renewed performance of Tchaikovsky’s Opera “Iolanta“, dedicated to the birthday of the founder and first artistic Director of the Centre Galina Vishnevskaya.
“Iolanta” is one of the most beloved operas of Galina Vishnevskaya, she called it a “brilliant opera, a work of genuine Master, the concentration of all that he knew and could”. A new group of soloists involved in the production, the orchestra of the Opera center are the main differences of the new “Iolanta“, which was not on the stage of the Centre over six years. Wuckert, Vaudemont – Petr Sizov, King René – Kuzma Rybalkin, Robert – Stanislav Li, Ibn-Hakia – Marat Mukhametzyanov, Almerica – Andrei Dudin, Bertrand – Mikhail Biryukov, Martha – Anna Bondarevsky, Brigitt – Anastasia Sorokina, Laura – Victoria Karkachev. The remake of the production was conducted by chief conductor of Royal Flemish Opera house, the Symphonic orchestra of Moscow Russian Philharmonic and the Novosibirsk state academic theatre of Opera and ballet Dmitry Yurovsky.
