The Opera Centre’s soloists have performed in Verdi’s home-town – Busseto on June 8 and 9, within the framework of the «Young Opera Singers Assemblies» international project.
The concert had been preceded by master class conducted by Fabrizio Cassi, who heads the Opera Busseto. Maestro examined each proposed music piece and structure of a particular role in detail, pointing to the complications and peculiarities of singing and to the intricacies of Italian language. Workshops were held in the Antonio Barezzi’s Museum – entrepreneur and philanthropist, who had seen young Verdi’s talent and has helped the young composer a lot.
Working with the soloists of the Centre, Fabrizio Cassi has noticed the uniqueness of the Vishnevskaya’s school, and high level of young artists training. According to him, it was a great pleasure to engage with singers from Moscow, who are intended for great future on stage. “Russian operatic school is very strong; Russia is a recognized ‘opera voices exporter’, – said the maestro.
The Centre’s soloists performed for the sophisticated and even strict Busseto audience on June 10: it’s known that Verdi admirers may discourage artists with a sudden «Booo!». The concert was followed by a storm of applause and ended with enthusiastic «Bravo!» shouts. This was the highest praise for the soloists of the Opera Centre: Irina Moreva, Ekaterina Mironycheva, Alexander Aliyev, Vladislav Popov and accompanist Anna Sitnikova. Verdi “test” is passed with ‘A’ grade.
