Alexey Tikhomirov was born in Kazan.

He graduated the Zhiganov Kazan State Conservatory with degree in choral conducting; in 2006 he graduated from the vocal department of the Conservatory.

Since year 2004, he has studied at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Centre, where he now performs the leading parts: Sobakin and Malyuta in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride, Monterone and Sparafucile in Verdi’s Rigoletto, King Rene in Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta, Mephistopheles in Gounod’s Faust, Gremin in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and Boris Godunov in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov.

Since 2005 – he’s been a soloist of the Moscow musical theater «Helikon-Opera».

Since 2010 – he’s been a soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre, where he participates in the opera productions of Boris Godunov by Mussorgsky (Pimen), Ruslan and Lyudmila by Glinka (Ruslan), The Magic Flute by Mozart (Zorastro).

He performs on the world major opera venues: Musicverein in Vienna, Israel National Opera, Opera Theatre of Reggio-Emilia, Opera de Massy, Hercules Hall in Munich, Rome Opera, Opera Monte-Carlo, the Salzburg Festival, the Mikhailovsky Theatre (St. Petersburg, Russia), Opera Royal de Wallonie, the Lyon National Opera, the Royal Opera Queensland in Brisbane (Australia), Bellini Opera and Ballet Theatre (Catania), and others. He actively collaborates with leading conductors of our time, such as Riccardo Muti, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Mikhail Pletnev, Vladimir Minin.

He is the winner and title-holder of the Republican contest ‘Best Young bass of Tatarstan’ (Kazan, 2007); Grand Prix-winner of the I International Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Singers Competition (Moscow, 2006).
