Born in Kiev, Ukraine.
Lidia Tokarskaya graduated from the Gnessins Musical College with a degree in musical theater acting. Lidia has won prizes at All-Russian and International Contests.
She has worked in the Central Theater of the Russian Army, the Contemporary Opera Theater (under Rybnikov), the USSR Union of Composers Theater “The Third Direction”, the Russian Theater of Musicals, Amadei Theater, Novaya Opera and Helikon Opera and also in the Moscow State Philharmonia.
She has participated in the following festivals “Moscow Autumn”, “Orthodox Russia”, “Saisons Russes à Paris” and “December Soirées”, the International Chekhov Festival and festivals dedicated to Georgy Sviridov, the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America (held in Italy) and festival dedicated to Alexander Pushkin’s 200th birth anniversary. Lidia has collaborated with the State Symphonic Capella, the “Moscow Soloists” chamber orchestra, the Moscow Philharmonic and the State Symphony Orchestra of Russia. She has also collaborated with stage directors Osherovsky, Kudryashov, Artsibashev, Burdonsky, Burov, Petrov.
As a director and performer, Lidia has collaborated with the Musical Salon of the Russian Army House called “Seasons” (concerts, performances) and the Theater of Vocal and Choral Culture (“Russian Image” in Eugene Onegin and concerts) and took part in performances at the museum estate of Abramtsevo (concerts and Eugene Onegin).
She has taught theater art at the Opera Centre since 2002 and been involved there with productions of Ruslan and Lyudmila by Glinka, The Tsar’s Bride by Rimsky-Korsakov, Rigoletto by Verdi, Faust by Gounod, Iolanta by Tchaikovsky, Vampuka by Erenberg and Carmen by Bizet together with directors Popovski, Androsov, Petrov and Bertman.
