III International Mstislav Rostropovich Festival (Orenburg)

III International Mstislav Rostropovich Festival (Orenburg)

December the 7th the III International festival of Mstislav Rostropovich in Orenburg was closed with the opera “Tsar’s bride” by N. Rimsky-Korsakov staged by the Opera Centre of Galina Vishnevskaya.
The audience waited impatiently for the last evening of the festival. Last year the soloists and the orchestra of the Centre represented at the Festival the opera “Boris Godunov” by M. Musorgsky, literally winning the hearts of the unspoiled viewers (the last time a full Opera performance on the stage of Orenburg was in 1945!). Not surprisingly, tickets for Orenburg state drama theatre named after M. Gorky in “The Tsar’s bride” were sold barely enrolling in sale.
Orenburg veiwers hopes were met: young singers revealed the full extent of their talent and professional skills. With great excitement, awe and responsibility at the stage of his native city was the performer of the role of Martha Maria Buinosova. The exam in front of fellow countrymen was put perfectly.
The enthusiastic audience thanked the soloists and the orchestra under the baton of Yaroslav Tkalenko with thunderous applause hoping to arrange a warm welcome to the students of the Opera Center.
